A range of header interfaces is available to allow users to connect the ICD 2 to their target board IC socket where a suitable ICD modular connection is not available. USB (full speed 2Mbits/sec) and RS-232 interface to host PC Real-time background debugging Firmware upgradable from the PC Supports low voltage target systems (+2.0 to +6.0V) Diagnostic LEDs (Power, Busy, Error) Reading/Writing memory space and stack of target microcontroller Freeze on halt. USB (full speed 2MB/second), RS-232 interface for host PC Real-time background debugger Firmware can be upgraded from PC Supports low voltage target system (+2.0 to +6.0V) Diagnostic LED(power, busy, error) Read/write target microcontroller's memory space and stack Freezes when paused. The ICD 2 uses MPLAB IDE (Integrated Development Environment) graphical user interface enabling various PIC microcontroller debuggers. It can be connected to PCs and user target boards with MPLAB ICD 2 modules and can directly connect with the target microcontroller in-circuit debugger in real time. A header interface is provided so by using this, the MPLAB ICD 2 can be connected to the target board IC socket when the suitable ICD module connection cannot be used.
